Vincent Longinotti is the high-flying guitarist with the French band “HOVE”. He has been a long time player/supporter of 3 Monkeys amps and used his Orangutan and 2×12 as his only rig for their 1st album “Backinhove”. Check it out.
Eddie Martinez and his GMII were recently featured in Oregon Home magazine. For those of you who don’t know, Eddie was the go-to guy in NYC in the 80′s and 90′s, and he recorded and played live with Robert Palmer for years. The Monkeys are big fans of Eddie’s playing and tone.
He has also played with Meat Loaf and Run-DMC; toured with Blondie; accompanied Mick Jagger at Live Aid, and performed on movie soundtracks including Pretty Woman and Pretty in Pink.
These days he writes advertising jingles and regularly performs with his Eddie Martinez Band in and around Portland, OR (his adopted hometown) using his custom Purple/White GMII Head and 2×12.
The first run of Sock Monkey Head’s and 1×12′s in Amethyst (Purple) and Fawn will be arriving at 3 Monkeys dealers this week. Sock Monkey 1×10 combos are also available in this same tolex configuration (in limited quantities). Go get one!!
Well, looks like we did it again (we also won in 2010). The Sock Monkey won best amp at the 2012 Southeastern Guitar and Amp Show. Thanks for voting for us!!
Join us this weekend as we show off our wares at the 3rd Annual Southeastern Guitar and Amp Show. We’ll be debuting a new model called the Organ Grinder (as well as giving one away). Come by and say hello if you are in the area. Admission is FREE.
Premier Guitar has unveiled an in-depth look at Brad’s amps, guitars, pedals, etc. in their latest Rig Rundown here. Oh, and you can also see gear from some guy named Joe Perry. We hear he’s pretty good too…
My Morning Jacket played in Raleigh last night and we had the pleasure of hanging with the band and crew from mid-day to load-out. Jim showed us his dual Orangutan rigs and explained how much he loves his monkeys (and bears and owls apparently).
He also had a lot of great ideas, so we hope to do a collaboration with Jim and Co. soon. Safe travels fellas.
Way back in 2010, Ossie and I did a recording session with Brad Whitford for a Tommy Bolin tribute record being co-produced by Greg Hampton and Warren Haynes. Brad played his BW119 head alongside original Bolin multi-tracks that had never been made public. Those tracks have now been released as Tommy Bolin and friends Great Gypsy Soul.
We sent out our first ever email newsletter yesterday announcing the new Sock Monkey Head and matching 1×12. Response has been very positive and we hope to have these products available soon. Check in with your favorite dealer here. If you missed it, sign up for our mailing list here.
Oh, and to see the new Sock Monkey head and 1×12 go here.
Test pilot monkey Pete Petty and his group My 3 Sons have just released a new CD and it is fantastic! Pete used his 3 Monkeys Orangutan and Virgil amps and cabs exclusively throughout the recording and we think it sounds great. Check out the ‘SONS’ here. Buy the music here and here. And go see them play live tonight at Southland Ballroom in Raleigh, and Sunday at the Emerald Lounge in Asheville, NC.
